This is without doubt a fabulous and special little hotel in Shanklin with a long and distinguished history of hospitality. It has spotless, bright, comfortable and well-equipped bedrooms with an atmosphere of unashamed relaxation and fun. The whole vibe at The Montrose is wonderfully friendly with a unique upbeat atmosphere; there is a definite slice of Ibiza sizzle going on at The Montrose; how cool is that? Sarah and Rory are an amazingly friendly couple whose mission it would appear is simple: to ensure your total relaxation, comfort and enjoyment whilst staying with them at their fabulously friendly hotel. You must see this place floodlit at night: it looks absolutely gorgeous. Upbeat, comfortable, wonderfully friendly and relaxed. A must stay on the island.

The beautiful Isle of Wight has been enchanting visitors since the Victorian times, and its royal connections it has been home to the great and
the good, and is known affectionately by many
residents and visitors alike as the largest village
in Great Britain. The islanders have a stress-
free and laid back attitude to life which is very
infectious so time passes slowly on this beautiful
isle, with over half of the island designated
as an area of outstanding natural beauty.
 

The islanders, whilst being laid back, are very
friendly and hospitable, but they do know how to throw a party. In 1970 the Isle of Wight Rock Festival was one of the largest concerts ever held
in the world, and was revived in 2002. The island
is also famous for other events: Cowes Regatta,
the Island Powerboat Race and Jazz Festival.
 

The Isle of Wight is gay friendly and has hundreds
of miles of footpaths and bridleways, with a beautiful rugged coastline that is punctuated with enchanting
hidden coves, safe sandy beaches and rock pools.
The island also enjoys the finest and most clement
