Bonchurch

Bonchurch Manor
This adorable early Victorian Manor house has been sitting quietly gazing out to sea from the village of Bonchurch for over 170 years. Then in July 2003 Shuba & Mark acquired the hotel & worked their own special magic and goodness, doesn't it show. Stunning bedrooms, all en-suite, many with sea views & sprawling lounges. What an incredibly friendly vibe the hotel has; it's cosmopolitan, elegant, chic and pleasingly quirky. Originally from Southern India, Shuba created The Tiffin Room specialising in cuisine from that region, and is recognised widely as producing the finest food of its type in Southern England. With an Indian option on the breakfast menu served on their immaculate lawns, how cool is that?

Enchanted Manor
Ric and Maggie are two very talented people and remarkable hosts who created this oasis of unashamed luxury and exquisite camp. Their style brief must have been "only the best will do" without any, it would appear, thought of cost. The result is a fabulous plethora of luxurious, tantalisingly sensual and romantic accommodation with more extras than you can shake a stick at. Located in beautiful grounds and woodland at St Catherine's Point overlooking the beautiful and untamed rugged coastline and the ocean beyond. Without doubt, this is one of the most amazing and luxuriously unique hideaways we have ever seen.

The Old Rectory
Resting quietly in the heart of the tranquil and ancient village of Whitwell sits this magnificent house, a beautiful example of Victorian Gothic Revival. For Selina, an accomplished musician and Jon, a noted artist, the restoration of their wonderful home has been a labour of love. Exquisite accommodation and reception rooms adorned with fine period furniture and the walls are hung with a collection of Jon's works of art. The pretty garden is home to many species of wildlife, and just a short distance away you will find Steephill Cove, one of the most beautiful, romantic and secluded coves on the island. The drawing room houses Selina's magnificent Bluthner grand piano and if you are very lucky you may hear her play. This really is an enchanting and very romantic place to stay.

Winterbourne House
Without doubt one of the finest country houses on the island that simply oozes timeless country house elegance, romance and charm. The bedrooms, just like the rest of the house, are presented immaculately with antiques and period furniture. Many of the sumptuous bedrooms have stunning views across the beautiful gardens to the ocean beyond. Charles Dickens so fell in love with Winterbourne House that he wrote the novel David Copperfield here, and wrote to his wife "My dear Kate, I have not a moment - just got back, and post going out. I have taken a most delightful and beautiful house belonging to White at Bonchurch - cool, airy, private bathing, everything delicious - I think it is the prettiest place I ever saw in my life - at home or abroad". Praise indeed.
